Boiler Descaling Services

Global Cynax offers a specialized service to chemically remove scale and other deposits from the integral passages of boiler, piping and other heat exchange equipment. Unwanted deposits caused by corrosion and the build-up of scale can cause serious heat loss and increased fuel consumption. We provide chemical cleaning to remove these deposits in boilers & heat exchanger – optimizing the operating efficiency of your plant, prolonging its life, avoiding costly repairs and eliminating potential environmental hazards.

Boiler Burner Tuning

Boiler Burner Tuning
Boiler burner tuning is an important maintenance work used to adjust the air to fuel ratio in the boiler. After fine tuning, boiler achieves maximum combustion efficiency.

Advantages of Burner Tuning
A regular boiler tune-up provides an opportunity to verify current boiler operating performance and establish a baseline for optimization adjustments, such as fine-tuning the amount of excess air available to completely burn the fuel. Using the optimal amount of excess air minimizes heat loss up the stack and improves combustion efficiency. It is not uncommon for boilers to operate at greater than desired excess air levels, resulting in heat lost due to the increased flue gas flow, which lowers the overall boiler fuel-to-steam efficiency.

Tube Replacement & Retubing

Global Cynax specializes in the retubing of fire tube & water tube boilers, heaters, pre-heaters & heat exchangers. Boiler tubes must be able to endure pressures, extremely high temperatures & potentially wide fluctuations in demand depending on the application. Boiler re- tubing and tube replacement can extend the life of the boiler, and saves the tubes from deteriorating due to scale build up and cracking. This retubing can be completed by our experienced engineers onsite at clients’ site or facility.
Our boiler retubing process includes:
# Inspection – Global Cynax visually inspects each boiler, and performs NDT testing as needed. We use dye penetrant testing to expose areas of boiler tube sheet cracking.
# Tube Extraction – Our team removes the old tubes along with the tube ends. If any tube sheet cracks are then repaired to the manufacturer code specifications.
# Tube Installation – New boiler tubes are installed by our experienced engineers, tube can be supplied by client or Global Cynax can deliver. Tubes are installed, rolled, beaded and sometimes welded.
# Boiler Testing & QC – We visually check scale and fits during this phase. Global Cynax can provide ultrasonic thickness testing and we can also handle code repairs to access points, nozzles and other related equipment.

Hydraulic Test

Hydraulic Testing is a process where components such as pressure vessels, boilers, gas cylinders, piping systems are tested for leaks & strength. Hydraulic tests are often required after shutdowns and repairs in order to validate that equipment will operate under desired conditions once returned to service. It is a type of pressure test that works by completely filling the component with water, removing the air contained within the unit, and pressurizing the system up to 1.5 times the design pressure limit of the unit. The pressure is then held for a specific amount of time to visually inspect the system for leaks. Visual inspection can be enhanced by applying either tracer or fluorescent dyes to the liquid to determine where cracks and leaks are originating.

Global Cynax mainly prefers the Direct Expansion Method for hydraulic tests. This method involves filling the vessels or piping systems with water, pressurizing the system, and measuring the amount of water that is expelled once the pressure is released. The permanent expansion and the total expansion values are determined by recording the amount of water forced into the vessel, the test pressure, and amount of water expelled from the vessel.
